Antique blue wooden indian swing

A gorgeous 19th century indian swing, in excellent authentic condition. For many centuries, swings have been used in the hot climate of india, within the interior of a house, on a verandah, or covered courtyard. With the original traditional blue paint, balustraded design and strong iron hook supports, this wonderful piece also comes complete with its iron hanging rods. It has the patina from decades of use, with just an old artisan repair to one vertical strut. With a strong overhead beam to attach to, this swing would make the most wonderfully unique focal point for any room and from a tree, perfect for a garden. A rare and very special piece.
