Chandelier suspended in the style of the Italian designer Gaetano Sciolari (born in 1927). Structure in wood and metal chrome, decorated with 5 globes tinted glass of Murano. Edited by MAZZEGA (1929-1983) in the 1970s. In good condition with some slight signs of wear on the metal. The origin of glassware Mazzega goes back to 1929, when Romano Mazzega created in Murano a small company bearing his name. The factory produces high quality parts, but especially inspired by the work of his competitors. In 1937, the House Romano Mazzega is sold to Aureliano Toso, who renamed it Vetri Decorativi Rag. Aureliano Toso. The following year, Romano Mazzega opened a new glass factory, the Fratelli Mazzega, in association with his brother Gino and his sister Maria. The company takes the name of I.V.R. (industry Vetrarie changes) Mazzega, around 1950. Post-war Mazzega offers the opportunity of considerable artistic development with performance entrusted to the prestigious master Ermanno Nason a suite of designs from contemporary artists among the most famous solicited projects by Fucina degli Angeli, cooperative of artists founded in 1950 in Murano: Pablo Picasso, Marc Chagall, Jean Cocteau and Georges Braque. She hosts at the same time independent designers, like Luigi Scarpa Croce, Aldo Bergamini, Carlo Scarpa or Renzo Burchiellaro. I.V.R. Mazzega society had the painter Gianfranco Purisiol as artistic director from 1958. During the four years of its presence at Mazzega, it develops a very original glass art where the whimsical variety of forms integrates and fully values the characteristics to success of the House style: multi-medium, bright colors softened in the privacy of a beautiful crystal. This glassware ceased all activity in 1983. Ceiling lamp in the style of the Italian designer Gaetano Sciolari (born in 1927).
