Cutting centerpiece modernist African art in raw wood

Very interesting old modernist piece of african art. The basin, handles and movable decorative rings - like earrings - are carved from the same block of wood, no pieces are brought back. Note the soft cone inner bottom while the thick outer bottom is flat. Sculptural presence and perfect proportions. The power of simplicity, both abstract and organic. Diameter with handles 37cm.
