Description
Rare kids version of the ball chair designed by eero aarnio. The finnish designer eero aarnio was born in 1932 in helsinki. He is one of the greatest of finnish design from the sixties, very famous thanks to his ball chair designed between 1963 and 1965. Aarnio creates it for his own home and then two people from asko decide to produce it. Unconventional, the ball chair shape is based on the most simple geometric forms: a ball. It is a "room within a room" and once you sit inside, the atmosphere becomes cozy and calm thanks to its special acoustic reducing outside noises. It gives you a private space, perfect for having a time on your own and/or making a phone call for example. Its rotative system gives you a panoramic view that enhances its cinema symbol. You have seen the ball chair in famous movies such "a clockwork orange", "mars attacks!" or "austin power" and the tv show "the prisoner". Produced by asko from 1966 to 1980. Asko is now named adelta. Fiberglass and red newly reupholstered fabric. Fiberglass with some wear of use and age, visible scratches and minor losses of the white globe.
