Guaranteed wow effect for this stool with its seat made from a tree trunk section and legs formed from branches, all featuring knots and textures, what we call the "flaws" of the wood, but above all what gives the wood its charm (I do woodturning as a hobby and I find the flaws to be the most beautiful part). It will bring a natural and cosy touch to your interior, whether as a side stool, bedside table, or end of the sofa. It has all sorts of textures but has been very well crafted, with a beautiful finish: a signature sanding that has removed roughness and splinters, so there’s no risk of splinters. This stool probably dates from the 1970s and was likely made by an amateur craftsman for family use, ensuring that it is absolutely unique! It has been varnished in a slightly yellow-orange hue, quite typical of the varnish used on light wood furniture in the 1960s and 70s. The varnish on the legs is intact, but on the horizontal part of the seat, it was flaking in places, which I have sanded down. I have not added any oil or varnish to allow you the freedom to choose what you want to do with it: leave it natural, apply paraffin oil to polish it, or reapply a varnish of the same colour. If you wish to adopt it as it is, don’t delay, as I plan to fill the natural cracks on the seat with a mixture of wood glue and brass powder (a technique used in woodturning). This stool is in generally good condition, stable, with legs well inserted into the seat, but it does show some signs of its age or the age of the wood used: inactive woodworm holes, cracks, various marks, and remnants of glue under the seat where the legs are inserted. This stool measures 30 cm in height, and the seat measures approximately 30 cm in width and depth.
