In good condition (small scratch to see in the picture) - the highest forces exerted on a chair are carried by the rear feet, as they support the weight of the upper body. A simple notion that the ingenious and designer jean prouvé put into practice when designing the standard seat: while a steel tube is enough for the two less stressed front legs, the rear legs of the chair are made of voluminous hollow bodies that transmit the load to the floor. This iconic dark creation is a famous classic of the french manufacturer.
