Set of 4 AP 38 Airport Chairs by Hans Wegner for AP Stolen, Denmark 1950's-1960's
The Airport chair, model AP38, is a design from 1958-1959 by Hans J. Wegner for the Kastrup Airport in Copenhagen. It was produced by the company AP Stolen, until the 1970's. While the AP40 model was build for lounging, this compact AP38 chair features an upright frame. This active seating posture makes it an excellent choice for a sophisticated dining chair or a stylish side chair. Also, the AP40 was later reissued by Carl Hansen & Søn (as the CH401) and is still made today, the AP38 was never produced again. This makes the AP38 rare and a true collector's item! These 4 chairs are completely re-upholstered in a beautiful red Kvadrat felt fabric (Divina 3, color 562) with new foam. The chrome-plated steel frames are in a good condition with minor signs of age and use. A comfortable dining or side chair and ready for instant use. One chair holds the original sticker of Danish Quality Control. Seat height: 45 cm, Seat depth: 40,5 cm
