Italian Renaissance decor “Diana in the bath”, late 19th century. In 1875, the Gien factory launched a decor that would make its worldwide success, in the taste of Italian majolica, the so-called “Renaissance” decor. Old decorative dish with handles intended to present the melon but can be used as a large dish or basket. Signature stamp with interlaced letters on the reverse. Intaglio mark monogram “ra” (which seems to be the decorator’s signature) Diameter (without handles) 27cm / total length with handles 36cm / height 8.5cm. Weight 400g. Very good condition despite the wear of time: bright and unaltered colors. Note some small chips around the edge and a small impact / chip (see last photo).
