Art Deco Modernist Side Table

Modernist round gueridon from the 1930s, in the spirit of certain creations by Thonet, Breuer, or Herbst... Tripod base in chrome metal (chrome in generally good condition), and a wooden top covered with its original textured green skai, imitating leather. The top's covering, well-stretched (a difficult technique), is in excellent condition. The base, slightly flared towards the bottom, shows logical chrome wear at the contact points with the floor. The centre of the stretcher is slightly raised... These are small details, but they give the whole piece harmony and lightness... Under the top, the trace of an old label, likely metallic, indicates the number 178... Very good overall and original condition. Height = 59.5 cm; Diameter = 60.5 cm. Weight approximately 5 kg.
