"Life creates the contrast between the unimaginable and the imperfect," said Chagall. To renew these "messages" and share them with the world, highlighted by a contemporary vision, the Chagall Committee commissioned a reproduction on porcelain from Bernardaud. The inspiration for this large trivet (which can also be used as a bowl) is the circular painting on the ceiling that Chagall created in 1963 for the Opéra Garnier in Paris. The opera itself and a ballet group are represented amidst typical Chagall motifs. The Arc de Triomphe and, without a doubt, the Eiffel Tower are other references to the home of the "Phantom of the Opera." Diameter: 36 cm. Dishwasher safe. Plate in perfect condition in its original box.
