Designed by Yngve Ekström for Westbergs Möbler in the 1950s, the table combines a shaped teak top with a distinctively designed oak frame. The straight legs are joined by curved stretchers that extend between the different points of the base, creating a sequence of curves visible from every angle. Teak-capped feet interrupt the lighter oak with a darker detail and echo the top, bringing coherence to the interplay between the two woods. Organic forms, precise craftsmanship and close attention to structure reflect Ekström’s distinctive language as a central figure in postwar Swedish modernism.
