Side table with a shaped teak top, oak legs and stretchers, and teak-capped feet. Designed by Yngve Ekström in the 1950s, manufactured by Westbergs Möbler, Tranås, Sweden. Designed by Yngve Ekström for Westbergs Möbler in the 1950s, the table combines a shaped teak top with a distinctively designed oak frame. The straight legs are joined by curved stretchers that extend between the different points of the base, creating a sequence of curves visible from every angle. Teak-capped feet interrupt the lighter oak with a darker detail and echo the top, bringing coherence to the interplay between the two woods. Organic forms, precise craftsmanship and close attention to structure reflect Ekström’s distinctive language as a central figure in postwar Swedish modernism. Manufactured by Westbergs Möbler in Tranås, Sweden, 1950s. Good condition. It may show signs of age, particularly on the top. Please pay attention to the photographs. AG354
