Scandinavian table lamp in stoneware designed by Inger Persson for the Swedish manufacturer Rörstrand in the 1960s. The base features a particularly characteristic construction of the ceramicist's work: a lower part in speckled natural stoneware, partially covered with a brown earth glaze, topped with a wide cylindrical body coated in deep turquoise blue glaze. Hand-incised vertical lines rhythmically adorn the glazed surface. The contrast between the matte, mineral texture of the exposed stoneware and the depth of the glossy blue glaze gives this small lamp a very sculptural presence, representative of 1960s Scandinavian modernist ceramics. The base bears the marking Rörstrand Ateljé Sweden as well as the artist's signature on the reverse. Presented with a cylindrical lampshade in woven ecru textile.
