Mirror of the in-between – Napoleonic III Era – White re-champing and gold leaf

Napoleon III period mirror, narrow and elongated format (H. 164 cm × W. 48 cm), made of wood and stucco. The frame has been repainted in a matte white and gold leaf finish on all the ornaments. The pediment features a central medallion with a female face adorned with flowers, framed by scrolls and topped with a ribbon bow. The side columns are embellished with floral bouquets and gilded foliage appliqués, as well as a frieze of pearls surrounding the mirror. The lower corners are decorated with acanthus and gilded flower motifs. The mirror is original, with an aged patina. The back panel is made of new solid wood, indicating a recent careful restoration.
