Double swiveling wall lamp from the 1950s in red and black plastic plexiglass

This is a stunning mid-century modern wall light, dating from the 1950s. It is mounted on a beautiful free-form black plastic wall plate, with fully oriented brass joints, lucite finials and magnificent translucent corrugated plexiglass lampshades, studded with diamond-shaped brass studs. This is an original french design from the 1950s which I believe is the work of french designer pierre gauriche. They are not labeled so you have to look at the photos and make sure they are what you expect. Pierre guariche was a french designer, interior decorator and architect. He is perhaps best known for the residential lighting fixtures he designed for pierre disderot in the 1950s, but he was also an innovative furniture designer and architect. His chairs are also very sought after today. Superbly french, they also feature the epitome of mid-century atomic style, a time when color and futuristic design were the pinnacle of post-war domestic style. They look great in any well-designed room. I especially like how they can be turned in any direction. For mounting, the black plastic bracket attaches to the wall using two screw holes, then the front of the bracket simply clips onto it. It's the perfect gift for anyone who loves mid-century modern style and a fantastic decor piece. Ideal for any room and they could be the perfect prop for a 1950s/60s theater production in very good condition with only a few minor imperfections. The most notable point is that one of the metal bars that holds the curved shades in place is bent. Nevertheless, the structure is solid and functional and the arms pivot as intended.
