This is an amazing find. A ceiling light from midcentury brussel design era in czechoslovakia. The light was produced in 1960s. The light is unique because of its great original design and condition. It works as a pull down light, meaning the lenght of it can be extended if needs to. The original system is hidden behind the brass details on the cord (looks chrome like in pictures, but it is actually brass). The cord is original and in excellent condition (checked by a professional electrician). The pull down systems works greatly. The light itself has a white opeline glass shield on which sits an orange metal ring. Perfect light with lots of style. The brussel style design era was after the expo 1958 which was held in brussels. Czechoslovakia won the gold prize for design pavillion. This fact changed the design era that followed. Some of the items dispayed at this expo were not allowed by the comminist party and the designers made a bold move to get these items to brussels as a secret. This was later celebrated as a great, bold idea which brought the gold back to the then communist czechoslovakia.
