Antique French Folding Iron Day Bed/Sofa Bed 19th Century

A most unusual and rarely found folding iron bed ‘lit bateau’ style dating from the middle of the 19th century, made in cast, wrought and strap iron, finely decorated with foliate motifs. The bed is sturdy and folds easily, no damage to the body. The bed comes with a clean, custom-made mattress by craftsman direct verlo (princess range), ticking finish. It also includes a custom silk cover with 2 cushions for each end. Custom mattress dimensions: 166cm (65.4") long X 101cm (40") wide X 20cm (8") high.
