Henri Lucien-Robert, Fauna and Woman in Love (circa 1900)

HENRI LUCIEN-ROBERT Faun and Woman in Love. Circa 1900. Original terracotta. H. 40 cm. Signed: Lucien Robert. Painter, sculptor, and illustrator, Lucien-Robert is one of the most renowned caricaturists of the Parisian press from the first decade of the 20th century. In this work, he gently parodies the satirical genre, in the style of Clodion, which was very popular at the end of the 19th century. However, the exchange between the two protagonists is authentic and touching. In short, a true couple in love! This work is an original terracotta rather than a mould, making it a unique piece.
