This hanging wall shelf, called string, is typical of the 1950s-60s. Made of sheet metal, this modernist shelf is made up of two vertical supports in golden brass with scrolls and three shelves in black sheet metal. The shelves are slightly inclined. A true icon of scandinavian design, the string modular shelving system was created in 1949 by swedish designer and architect nils strinning (1917-2006) and his wife kajsa strinning. These modules have been available in colors and different materials by design firms such as tomado. It measures 63 cm in height, 48 cm in width and 17 cm in depth.
