This vase, attributed to the Laura glassworks from Poland and dated to the 1970s, is a striking study of Central European postmodernism. The glass in a tone of transparent amber of medium intensity forms the basis of the design: the body, shaped into a strongly developed sphere, abruptly transitions into a slender, cylindrical neck. On both sides are vertical applications – glass ribbons in a shade of semi-transparent, light cream, featuring a bubbly and slightly cracked texture, clearly contrasting with the smooth, glossy surface of the main body. These accents offer both visual contrast and a sensory variety of touch. The proportions of the vase are boldly rhythmized: the circular base provides stability, and the elongated neck enhances the verticality and lightness of the silhouette. The visible handmade character of the craftsman's work – especially at the junction and on the applied decorations – emphasizes the uniqueness of the piece. The item is in very good condition, with no chips or cracks, original finish, and no signs of restoration. This vase speaks the language of the experimental 1970s, suggesting a defiance of classical patterns. Its amber glass catching the light is a reminder of times when designers were more willing to reject convention in favour of free, sensual exploration of material. The irregularly textured ribbons seem to tell a story of breaking the rigours of form: glass becomes both structure and decoration, as if to attract the eye and invite touch. The form of this vessel speaks of the courage of years when everyday objects became a stage for artistic gesture. The vase can be paired with simple, modern furniture with chrome or matte surfaces to highlight its expressive colour and sculptural line. It fits perfectly in interiors in the spirit of collector's postmodernism, but can also be combined with wooden details, minimalist ceramics or raw concrete to achieve a play of textures and light. It is a strong decorative accent in itself – a single branch or complete emptiness is enough to fully emphasize its unique silhouette and clear traces of the era.
