This Magic Revelation table by Albert Ducrot, dating from the 1950s, is an iconic transformable piece of Mid-Century French furniture. Ingenious, it transitions from a coffee table to a proper dining table thanks to its integrated mechanism. Its wood veneer top, probably mahogany, features a beautiful grain in warm tones and a glossy finish. It can also be unfolded to double its surface area, allowing it to shift from a compact format to a large table when hosting. The lighter wood base and its splayed legs are characteristic of 1950s furniture. The transformation is remarkably simple. You just need to lift one edge of the top, push the cast iron mechanism outward to lock it, and then repeat the process on the other side: the table then rises to dining table height. All that’s left is to rotate the top, open it in two, and place it on the cast iron frame to create a large surface. In general good condition, although the veneer shows some slight signs of wear here and there. The mechanism is fully functional. Dimensions: Coffee table (LxWxH): 60 × 98 × 50 cm; Dining table (LxWxH): 120 × 98 × 75 cm. A beautiful piece of mid-century engineering that still gives the impression of a little magic today.
