Brutalist pair of chairs attributed to Charles Dudouyt.

Beautiful pair of low French brutalist chairs, attributed to Charles Dudouyt, circa 1940. Solid wood structure, with thick cylindrical legs, characteristic top balls, and a backrest with two crossbars. Seats made of woven straw, with a lovely old patina. The design, proportions, and construction details are very close to several documented seats by Charles Dudouyt and productions associated with La Crémaillère in the 1940s. No marks or labels are present, so the attribution is proposed by stylistic comparison. Very beautiful sculptural presence, with a rustic and modernist aesthetic typical of French furniture from the 1940s.
