Pexonne earthenware planter

Beautiful planter in earthenware of pexonne, rocaille model. On a white background, bird decorations and landscapes. The pexonne pottery is one of the oldest in lorraine, since 1720, and continued to produce until 1953. It was in the 1900s that earthenware made its golden age, with the arrival of immigrants from sarreguemines, following the war of 1870. Colored earthenware gave way to white clay at this time, with the use of transparent enamel. New modern furnaces allow a more consistent production at this time.
