Old fabric box with garden flowers

Box is in very good condition, no gaps, no tears in the fabric. The fabric hinge is in perfect condition. The box is made of a rather hard cardboard base, covered with fairly thin printed fabric padding. The interior and bottom of the box are covered with printed paper with abstract patterns. The finishing paper on the bottom of the box is slightly marked, and in one corner we can see the trace of an old label, which probably indicated its origin. This type of box was often sold in department stores, known as “novelty stores” such as la samaritaine for example. Very pretty colorful range of fabric with pink and yellow floral patterns on a sky blue background. The fabric is a little more faded and yellowed on the top than on the sides, which gives the box an old-fashioned, slightly nostalgic charm. French artisanal manufacturing from the first half of the 20th century.
