Litron cup and its hard porcelain sub-cup with polychrome decoration of flower throws and golden nets. Tagged: torches crossed in blue, manufacture of locré. Xviiith century. Subcup: 10 cm diameter. Cup: 5 cm in diameter by 5 cm in height. Beautiful condition, no splinter, chip or crack; a hair at the back of the undercup, not visible on the spot, small traces of time, see photos. It was in 1773 that jean baptiste locré bought his workshop rue de la fontaine au roi. He was born in 1726 into a wealthy family, the son of a textile merchant of saxon origin. By renting his land, he built his workshop and ovens in 1772. On july 14, 1773, he registered his mark in the form of two blue crossed arrows. In the same year, he joined forces with laurent russinger who became his second, mastering the technique of hard porcelain. In 1787, locré was ruined because of the costs of manufacturing. He sold it to russinger who moved it to build new workshops. Ruined too, russinger sold the factory to the pouyat family, but he remained at the head of production. The year 1810 marks the death of russinger and locré, gradually causing the bankruptcy of the factory. In 1820, the furnaces of the first workshops were extinguished. In 1825, jean marx clauss revived the factory in premises rented to alexandre dodé, russinger's son-in-law. The locré factory saw three generations of clauss before being taken over by achille bloch in 1887. Note that you buy old objects, they may have traces of time (indicated and visible on the photos so important). Fast sending and professional packaging of packages, I adapt the postal costs according to the weight of the package, as accurately as possible so as not to make you bear additional costs. _______________________________ Litron cup and saucer in hard porcelain with polychrome decoration of flower throws and gilt fillets.
