Murano Ice glass ceiling light, Italy, 1970s

Fantastic vintage Murano glass chandelier made in Italy in the 1970s. Composed of Murano glass plates, crafted by Italian master glassmakers who follow the oldest techniques of Murano glass production. Each plate is unique as it is handmade. Ice glass objects are distinguished by their cracked appearance, resembling pieces of broken ice. This effect is achieved by plunging hot glass objects into cold water to crack their surface, then covering these cracks with another layer of molten glass, giving the object the appearance of ice. Chandelier in very good vintage condition. Total height with cable 80 cm. Requires 5 E14 bulbs. Suitable for all electrical systems in all countries. Width: 50 cm. Height: 47 cm.
