Flower ashtray, murano, 1970

Murano blown glass ashtray - sculpted floral decoration extremely rare, this beautiful vintage hand-blown murano artglass ashtray is truly a work of art. The color and detail are stunning, with a deep red flower among beautiful green leaves, all set within a gradient blue bowl with a detailed clear base. While this piece is in excellent condition, it does have a small internal crack in the bowl, which is visible in the photo. The addition of this floral decoration gives this ashtray a strong decorative character, making it much more than just a utilitarian object. Its blown glasswork and colorful inlays recall the aesthetic of traditional venetian glass, emblematic of murano design.
