Sculpted wooden table lamp – Ethnic style, vintage 1960s from Madagascar.

Ethnic table lamp with a strong character, featuring a handcrafted dark solid wood base. Of Malagasy origin, purchased in Madagascar in the 1960s. The base has an openwork structure (vertical openings) and horizontal reliefs that give it a sculptural appearance. The lampshade is made of terracotta-colored jute fabric, bordered with a trim and small pom-poms. Dimensions: total height 41 cm, lampshade 21 cm high (diameter 33/30 cm), base 25 cm high (diameter 12 cm). Original cable of about 190 cm with a switch. A decorative piece with character, ideal for a bohemian, ethnic, mid-century, or contemporary interior. In generally good condition for a vintage piece. The inner edge of the lampshade is slightly detached but very easily repairable and is not visible from the outside. Available for pickup in Versailles or Saint Nom La Bretèche, shipping possible. I also have other sculptures and pieces of African/tribal and Malagasy art, contact me for the list.
