Superb antique glazed terracotta jar or jug, probably from the Southwest of France (Tarn, Lot or Dordogne), dated to the end of the 19th or beginning of the 20th century. This utilitarian piece of character was once used for storing or serving liquids (water, wine) and features a typical cream slip decoration on a reddish-brown background. It is distinguished by its hand-applied geometric and spiral patterns, its double handle system (carrying handle and lateral pouring handle), as well as its beautiful original patina. The unglazed lower part retains traces of firing and use, testifying to its authenticity. Some visible wear, chips from use, without cracks, do not affect the stability or charm of the piece. Dimensions: Height: 38 cm Max diameter: 24 cm.
