The malinké people are a people of west africa (mali, senegal...). This table is a real ritual table sometimes used for sacrifices. Large table made of native wood. Engraved and inlaid with metal parts forming geometric shapes. The symbols have real meanings like the triangles represent sex, the man, the circles represent the sun, the star, and the lines on the edge of the table represent the staircase of the sky. The whole represents the birth of the world until its disappearance. This table has a very nice patina of use. A glass top covers the wooden top.
