Rondache or shield, made of repelled and chiseled iron. XVIII XIXth

Exceptional "rondache" (or shield), in repelled iron. XVIII xixth. In "round-hump", with hemmed edge with allegorical decoration. It is engraved on its entire outer face. The central motif represents 3 different battle scenes, between each scene 2 naked men curled up on themselves, in a feeling of fear. The perimeter represents animals. Era / period: contemporary era (west) Date of creation/manufacture: 1800 - 1900 (in the style of the sixteenth century). Rondaches were used in close combat with short swords. Diameter: 56 cm - 22.04" Weight: 1.1 kg.
