Allbricka Melamine Tray Sets — Sweden, 1960s/1970s

Three complete sets of vintage Allbricka melamine trays, each comprising five graduated round trays in the boldest colour combinations of the era. Black, red, yellow, orange and green — stacked together they look less like kitchenware and more like a piece of op-art (short for Optical Art). Which, in the best possible way, is exactly the point.Allbricka — the name translates loosely as “all-tray” — was marketed in Sweden as the ultimate multi-purpose melamine tray: fireproof and dishwasher safe, equally at home as a candle tray, serving platter, or decorative object. The original product card, retained on one of the sets, shows them styled with candles in a cosy 1970s living room setting — a wonderful period document.All trays carry the embossed “Melamin Made in Sweden” marking on the reverse. The sets are in excellent near-unused condition, showing only the gentlest signs of age. Complete sets of five in matching colours are genuinely hard to come by.Sold as three individual sets.
