Designed by Alf Svensson for Bjästa Möbelfabrik, this oak bookcase reflects the language of Swedish design from the 1960s. The upper section is fitted with adjustable shelves and has a depth of 28 cm, while the lower storage compartment is enclosed by two hinged doors with woven cane panels and fitted with adjustable shelves. The combination of teak and natural cane, together with the clean lines and balanced proportions, expresses the pursuit of simplicity that characterises Svensson's work for Bjästa Möbelfabrik, a Swedish manufacturer renowned for producing high-quality furniture during the second half of the twentieth century.
