Rare pair of danish palshus lamps by per linnemann schmidt - denmark 1960s palshus produced work that used chamotte techniques. This format is considered the crown jewel in denmark. The lampshade and the electrical system are new. Palshus pottery was founded by per linnemann-schmidt and annelise linnemann-schmidt in 1947 in the town of sengløse just west of copenhagen, denmark. The studio name is an acronym of p(er), (a)nnelise (l)innemann, (s)chmidt and hus (house). Early studio pieces were precise and minimalist in nature, with beautifully silky, matte glazes – mainly in subtle tones of brown, blue, green or cream. At palshus, the 1960s saw a change in style with the use of chamotte (textured clay) as well as printed/sgrafitto designs, used in conjunction with more roughly textured gloss glazes. The pottery closed in 1972. Dimensions: single leg h20 X d9 cm with lampshade: h35 X d20 cm.
