Charming decorative bird figurine made of biscuit porcelain (matte unglazed porcelain), fully hand-painted in the 1970s. This animal statuette faithfully represents an American Robin (or a bird from the thrush family), characterized by its bright brick-orange breast and its textured white throat with small black speckles painted with great precision. The bird has a brown earth-tone back and an olive-green head, posed in a lively attitude, perched on a sculpted tree stump adorned with small green leaves at its base. The matte finish of the biscuit and the realistic modeling evoke mid-range German or Italian productions of the time. The hollow base bears no manufacturer's signature, making it a lovely piece of accessible folk animal art. Features: • Subject: American Robin / Thrush. • Material: Hand-painted biscuit porcelain. • Era: Circa 1970-1980. • Dimensions: Height 10 cm|Length 7 cm|Width 4 cm. • Condition: Splendid vintage condition. The biscuit porcelain is very sound, with no cracks or losses, and the matte colors have remained perfectly original.
