We are delighted to offer for sale this magnificent and extremely rare 18th-century Spanish primitive three-legged bench that can be used as a coffee table. It is undoubtedly one of the oldest and most charming pieces I have ever seen, dating from around 1740, over 280 years ago. Likely designed as a farmhouse bench, it resembles a milking stool but is larger, making it unsuitable for that function. The piece has been used as a coffee table over the last few centuries and exudes so much character that it attracts the attention of everyone who sees it! The wood is primitive and slightly ridged on the top. The entire piece has been lightly restored by a French polisher who ensured it is 100% solid and stable and has lightly sealed the finish, nothing more. In terms of use as a bench, it is strongly advised not to sit on it with full weight as it may tip over; being long and three-legged, it is less stable than a four-legged piece. We therefore suggest using it solely as a "stunning coffee table" to avoid falls. Dimensions height: 40 cm, width: 125 cm, depth: 38 cm. All measurements are taken at the widest point. Condition: renovated, wear consistent with age and use, slight minor discolouration.
