Description
Plan of paris in the eighteenth century in 20 plates edited by alphonse taride at the beginning of the twentieth century according to the plan of paris called "plan de turgot". Complete (20 boards + 1) and in good condition with traces of wear on the edges of the shirt and some tears in the folds, no missing. Each unfolded board measures 76 cm wide by 53 cm high margins included. The 20 plates form a "puzzle" of the map of paris whose dimensions once reconstituted are 3.18 m by 2.5 m! Turgot's plan is a plan of the city of paris, made between 1734 and 1739 at the request of the provost of merchants, michel-étienne turgot, by louis bretez, member of the academy of painting and sculpture and professor of perspective. The 21 engraved brass instruments of the plan are preserved by the chalcography of the louvre.
