Introducing the La Basilica table by renowned Italian designer Mario Bellini. This table is a magnificent architectural masterpiece that will enhance any interior. It features a generous rectangular top crafted from durable ash wood. The clean lines and minimalist aesthetic showcase Bellini’s signature style. Expertly designed and crafted in Italy, it exudes quality and sophistication. The base of the table consists of two sculptural pedestals that create an eye-catching architectural look. Bellini took inspiration from the grandeur and symmetry of a basilica when designing these unique legs. William Forsythe If this particular table could talk... He would tell you that its first owner, American dancer and choreographer William Forsythe, purchased it in the 1970s with his first salary as a choreographer in Germany. When we traveled to St. Moritz, Switzerland to pick up the table, we met William’s daughter. She told us this story about her father and the table that witnessed many family moments. William's creativity and idiosyncrasy was not limited to his dance routines; William "shrunk" the Basilica table to make it a side table. At one point, William wanted a side table, so he made this Basilica table fit better with what he needed. Where there's a will, there's a way! So that means the beams of the table legs are cut (see photos). This disruption has no effect on the overall view or construction of the table.
