Woven blonde wicker basket

Woven wicker basket, oval-shaped and slightly flared. France, circa 1950. Hand-woven natural wicker, mounted on a circular frame, with the upper edge reinforced by several intertwined strands. Basketry with a geometric design formed by the alternation of strands, showing a beautiful regularity in weaving. Low and deep shape, originally intended for storage or domestic use. Natural honey hue, with colour variations and signs of wear. Height: 22 cm. Width: 46 cm. Depth: 38 cm. Condition consistent with age. Irregularities and signs of wear on the basketry. The wicker at the bottom is darkened but the structure is sound.
