Description
Exceptional carved marble vessel sink. Signed Victor Ségoffin (1867-1925). The sculptor Victor Segoffin, Grand Prix de Rome, was part of the “band of Toulouse” who, at the end of the 19th century, achieved artistic and social recognition in Paris. From 1897 to 1902, he was a resident at the Villa Medici. In Italy, he increased his knowledge of Florentines of the quattrocento, but also of Michelangelo and Bernini who reinforced a baroque leaning. From 1890 and until his death, he exhibited at the Salon des Artistes Français. Victor Ségoffin worked mainly with the industrial and political upper bourgeoisie. Period from the end of the 19th century to the beginning of the 20th century. Height 170 cm. Width 100 cm. Depth 64 cm.
