Glass lamp by gunnar biilmann petersen for le klint, denmark, 1960s. A vintage mouth-blown glass table lamp, designed by biilman-petersen for le klint in denmark in 1948. The dark green glass is in very good condition with age-related wear. The shade is not vintage but is being offered. Height with shade 69cm and 43cm without. Width 20cm. Gunnar biilmann petersen is one of the great figures in the history of danish design. He studied at the academy of arts' school of decoration and later worked as an architect, but it is in the field of graphic arts that he has been most involved. His work ranges from graphics and posters to banknotes and logos, including the design of jens olsen's world clock at copenhagen city hall. Alongside his design studio activities, biilmann petersen devoted himself to teaching and research, and in 1951 he became the first professor of design at the academy of fine arts. Biilman petersen worked on several table lamp proposals for le klint, some of which are still in the range.
