Flower pick dove in porcelain

This flower holder in the shape of a dove with outstretched wings is a typical decorative piece from the ceramics of the 1950s to 1970s. Placed on a windowsill or at the centre of a laid table, it holds a few stems of dried or fresh flowers with natural grace. Materials: fine white glazed porcelain, glossy and smooth, without painted decoration. The surface reveals the sculpted details of the plumage with precision. Features: the dove is depicted in a static pose, with wings slightly spread and tail raised. The back of the body is pierced with a row of five circular openings allowing for the insertion of floral stems. The modelling of the plumage is finely rendered, with particular care given to the wings and the striated tail. The piece rests flat on its rounded belly and exhibits excellent stability.
