Cod 11196. Great flemish painting from the first half of the 17th century. Oil on canvas artwork depicting the allegory of love, of remarkable pictorial quality. Painting attributable to the dutch painter cornelis van haarlem (1562-1638), lacking authentication. Among the most famous exponents of dutch mannerism, he was influenced by the works of bartholomeus spranger and painted mainly mythological and biblical episodes and allegories. Just like in this case, where we see the allegory of love represented, where a beautiful girl with bare breasts is contested between a handsome young man and an old man who tries to conquer her by offering his riches. It is worth highlighting the refinement of the chromatic palette and the executive quality in the creation of the clothes, rich in precious details and lace. Scenic 20th century frame in carved, lacquered and gilded wood, of beautiful decoration. Painting already restored with relining, replacement of the frame and repainting of the color in small spots. Overall in good state of conservation. Interior size h 74 X w 99 cm.
