20th-century Ukrainian painting, “Having Tea.”

Ukrainian painting dated 1988. An oil-on-canvas work depicting an interior scene with an elegant young woman, titled “Having Tea.” The painting is of a substantial size and is set in an ebonized frame, which shows some minor losses to its gesso ornamentation. This modern impressionist piece is signed and dated in the lower-right corner (see photo) and can be attributed to the renowned Ukrainian painter Viktor Romanovych Efimenko (1952–2017); it does not come with a certificate of authenticity. It is a work of great refinement, in which every nuance of color has been masterfully employed to recreate this elegant and detailed tea-time scene. On the back of the canvas, there are inscriptions indicating the title, dimensions, year, and the original selling price in rubles. The piece retains a beautiful patina and is in good condition.
