Christofle, alfénide, paris series of 12 table forks in silver-plated metal model américa design by luc lanel, typically art deco model with its cut sides, its stepped molding and its designed angles. This model was created in 1933. Oc hallmark for christofle + alfenide hallmark length: 20.5cm weight: 802g good condition, scratches from use, a fork very scratched on the handle (see photo 6) alfenide is an alloy made developed in 1850 by the halphen brothers, french chemists and goldsmiths. The alfénide factory was bought in 1880 by christofle. A goldsmith's mark was registered in 1908, with the guarantee mark for alfenide silvering. This hallmark includes a goat's head in a diamond inscribed in a square, similar to the diamond-shaped one of the widow charles halphen, goldsmith inscribed on march 17, 1877. Compared to silver metal it has the advantage of being massive and not to corrode, of great hardness and greater longevity.
