Vintage white onyx bookends – Horse heads

Elegant pair of vintage bookends carved from natural white onyx, featuring two horse heads with geometric and stylised lines. Their silhouette evokes Italian decorative pieces from the 1960s-1970s, at the intersection of Art Deco style and mid-century design. The onyx displays beautiful ivory and cream hues as well as natural veining that becomes particularly visible when the stone is illuminated. An old label is still present on one of the bookends. Both decorative and functional, they will easily find their place in a library, on a shelf, a desk, or a console, either as decorative objects or used to hold a few beautiful books. Overall good vintage condition. Some traces and marks related to age are visible, particularly under the bases.
