Set of 6 colonial armchairs with English influence – Wood and caning – 19th century
Set of six colonial armchairs with British influence in dark brown stained solid wood, late 19th century. Each armchair features a rectangular backrest and a generously sized seat fully upholstered with finely woven cane. The curved armrests rest on turned supports shaped like spools; the front legs are also turned with ring details, contrasting with the simple, slightly flared back legs. The seat height is 44 cm, and the overall structure aligns with the tradition of English Regency style adapted for tropical colonial use. The set exhibits a consistent antique patina and a beautiful homogeneity. There is slight natural wear on some cane panels, consistent with the age of the pieces. Overall condition is very satisfactory. Cleaning is required. Sold as a set of six units. Dimensions per armchair: H. 86 cm, W. 47 cm, seat height 44 cm, individual weight approximately 10 kg.
