Set of 6 deep plates Bernardaud Limoges – Art Deco – A715

Magnificent set of 6 deep plates (bowls) made of fine Limoges porcelain, manufactured by L. Bernardaud & Cie (stamped B&Co on the back). Dating from the 1930s, these authentic plates bear the label "Limoges Unique". They are adorned with a superb navy blue and gold Art Deco frieze, interwoven with small bouquets of roses. The deep shape is currently very trendy and sought after for elegantly serving pasta, risottos, or soups. In very good condition. The porcelain is brilliant, the patterns are well preserved, except for two bouquets showing slight fading. No chips, cracks, or crazing. Note a very slight and discreet fading in places on the outer rim, normal for their age and indicative of their authenticity. Diameter: 24.5 cm. Height: 4 cm. Depth: 3 cm. Weight: 500 g each. Total weight: 3 kg. Explanations on the stamps: B & Co / LIMOGES FRANCE (in green): This is the white trademark of Bernardaud (B & Co for Bernardaud and Company), actively used since the early 20th century. LIMOGES FRANCE UNIQUE (in green): This green stamp corresponds to the mark of the Union Porcelainière. Registered in 1929, this "Limoges Unique" label guaranteed the authenticity and quality of 100% Limoges production. TACHET / QUINCAILLERIE / THIERS (in pink): This is the commercial mark of the retailer of the time. Hardware stores and department stores in the provinces during this period often had a "Tableware" section and had luxury tableware they ordered from Limoges stamped in the name of their own shop (here, the Tachet Hardware located in Thiers in the Puy-de-Dôme). Thanks to the intersection of these stamps, we can precisely date the manufacture of these pieces between 1929 and the 1930s/1940s.
