Armchair the Vitra chair by Charles and Ray Eames. Charles and Ray Eames created the chair in 1948 as part of a competition at the Museum of Modern Art in New York. This seat is inspired by the “floating figure” sculpture by sculptor Gaston Lachaise. A true sculpture that takes over the space, the seat is distinguished by its astonishing elegance and allows multiple sitting and lying positions. The chair has long become an icon of organic design. Features. Materials: white lacquered polyurethane shell, chrome-plated steel tube base, solid natural oak base crosspiece, natural wood effect varnish. There is no assembly to do, the product is already assembled. There are some defects (scratches) knowing that it was more of a display piece in our living room. We provide the certificate of authenticity from Vitra. Dimensions. H 87 X width 150 X depth 90 cm (seat height 49 cm).
