kokeshi Naruko / Artist: Shigeru

Traditional kokeshi naruko, by the shigeru artist from miyagi prefecture year 1952. The peculiarity of naruko kokeshi have the head that moves from right to left. Traditional kokeshi naruko are ornamented with chrysanthemums with a child's face. Unique handmade and collectible piece. 200 years ago carpenters in northern Japan began making wooden dolls by hand to give to their children.
