Condition: Very good condition, showing minimal signs of wear. A tear in the leather has been repaired. Description. Ilmari Lappalainen was a Finnish designer and interior architect. He studied interior architecture at the Finnish Institute of Applied Arts in Helsinki. After graduating in 1947, he worked for the Finnish furniture manufacturer ASKO, where he remained until his retirement. Among his most famous creations are the "Laila Chair" from 1948 and the "Pulkka" chair from 1963, presented here. This model, with its clean lines, appeals with its timeless aesthetic and ergonomic comfort. Today, it is considered an icon of mid-20th century design. In addition to his work as a furniture designer, Lappalainen also worked as an interior architect. Among his most prestigious projects are the luxurious Rusa hotel and the GUM department store in Moscow.
